Hosted by ictQATAR at Al Sharq Village and Spa, Business Connect addressed critical business challenges faced by the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with Microsoft and MEEZA sharing insights on new technology solutions that are ideal for SMEs to boost business efficiency and reduce costs

As key speakers at the event, Microsoft and MEEZA discussed new technology trends including cloud services that regional SMEs could adopt in order to boost their productivity and enhance competitiveness. This is particularly relevant now with SMEs emerging across the Gulf region as the key contributors to the economy’s GDP.

Data Centre Strategies Forum – Abu Dhabi, June 2nd and 3rd 2009

MEEZA participated in the Cloud Panel at the first major strategic forum for Data Centre operators, managed services, outsourcing and cloud computing businesses in the Middle East.

During the conference MEEZA focussed on the benefits of Cloud Services and assessed the risks involved in adopting a cloud services strategy as well as the importance of standardisation and interoperability in the increased adoption of cloud services in the Middle East.

IDC IT Managers Forum, Doha – May 91th, 2009

MEEZA Executives James Fanella and Michael Molson shared their extensive industry expertise in a presentation entitled Disaster Recovery and Managed Services: Protecting Your Business and Driving Value in Today’s Climate.

The presentation investigated the relevance of managed services for businesses today and highlighted the benefits such an approach can bring to an organisation. It discussed the future developments that will be driven by the proliferation of managed services and explain how cloud services (IT services provided over the internet) will drive more value into the managed services landscape. Finally, they presented innovative disaster recovery strategies that can minimise risk and outline the business benefits of an effective disaster recovery strategy.

Michael Molson, Vice President Operations of MEEZA addressed over 100 CIO’s at this event about the importance of readying your business for Cloud Services.

Cloud Services are very quickly becoming a critical part of the CIO's strategy; however, implementing and integrating them effectively requires different strategies, frameworks, methodologies and tactics to deliver the desired value back to the business.
